Camilla holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from UCL and a Bsc(hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. She has experience with large heterogeneous data sets of evolving systems, machine learning, and complexity science.

Currently in her main job, Camilla works as a postdoctoral scientist in translational bioinformatics in the pharmaceutical industry, where she uses machine learning methods in analysing data for antibody based therapeutics. Alongside this, she is also an active volunteering researcher for cancer research groups at the Francis Crick institute in London.

In addition to this, Camilla also has various side projects, which firstly includes her work in researching the evolution of social-psychological demographic data of mining communities in Africa. Her other projects regarding psychology involve studying the impacts of mental health, such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis, on consequent decision making.

Camilla is also a STEM ambassador and is strongly passionate about the communication of science and it’s connection with the arts, to the public and in education.

Since her research is inherently mathematical and reductionist, her synesthesia enables her to have naturally artistic viewpoint where she uses sketches and musical compositions to capture the subtleties of life and human behaviours – for her everyday thinking and research.
