Gilberto Ezparza–Aguascalientes, 1975. Lives and works in Mexico City. Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University of Guanajuato and one year exchange at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia, Spain. His work involves electronic and robotic means to investigate the impacts of technology in everyday life, social relationships, environment and urban structure. Currently conducts research projects on alternative energies. His practice employs recycling consumer technology and biotechnology experiments. In his projects have collaborated research centers such as Research Group in Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Cartagena, Spain; Mechatronics Area of CINVESTAV; Institute of Engineering, Juriquilla, UNAM; Digital Arts, National Polytechnic Institute, University of Guanajuato, Salamanca. Gilberto Esparza, has had solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, US, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Russia, Slovenia, Dhoa, between others. He received the award for Latin American Production VIDA 09 and second prize VIDA 13 from TelefÃ³nica Foundation of Spain. Also he was awarded with the honorific mention in Ars Electronica, Linz Austria 2013, and Golden Nica Prix Ars Electronica, Hybrid Art 2015. He is currently a member of the National System of Art Creators in Mexico.
