Bio

Mona Kafeel serves as Chief Operating Officer at Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation (TMWF), an educational, philanthropic, and social service non- profit organization dedicated to empowering women and their families. Islamic Art revival Series is one of the programs of TMWF. In this capacity, Mona is responsible for the operational management and leadership, which includes day to day internal functions of all of TMWF’s programs including social services, youth leadership, Interfaith/Education and Islamic Art Revival Series. Her responsibilities includes developing policies and procedures, finance, budget development, facilities, information technologies, human resource and long term strategic goals. Additionally Mona provides staff leadership for various Board members and their committees with fundraising, events, donor relationship and solicitor. Mona attended UCLA and has earned Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, several certificates in nonprofit sector, including Non-Profit Management and Non-Profit Leadership Development from Southern Methodist University. She capitalizes on her sound nonprofit experience and spearheaded the Environmental Education Program for children in PISD schools, which led to the creation of community gardens within each elementary school and each school organizing an environmental awareness week. Mona led the community development program serving at -risk children, seniors and unemployed adults. Serves on the boards of nonprofits and PISD schools for over a decade. Mona was selected as “Education Mentor” of the year by the City of Plano for her work. She is a participant in Leadership Development Program – Plano, a program to empower current and future leaders to serve the community.
