Aguascalientes, México, 1975. Reside en San Miguel de Allende y la Ciudad de México. Graduado de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad de Guanajuato y 1 año de intercambio en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos en Valencia, España.
Investiga la tecnología como posibilidad para plantear preguntas y soluciones a los impactos de la huella humana sobre la vida en la tierra, a partir de una reivindicación de la inteligencia inherente a la vida y replanteando la relación de las sociedades humanas con el entorno natural. Su práctica emplea reciclaje de tecnología de consumo y experimentos con biotecnología.
En sus proyectos han colaborado centros de investigación como: el Grupo de Ingeniería Química y de Procesos de la Universidad de Cartagena, España, Área de Mecatrónica del CINVESTAV del Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Instituto de Ingeniería, Juriquilla, UNAM, Artes Digitales, Universidad de Guanajuato.
Gilberto Esparza, ha realizado exposiciones individuales y colectivas en México, Estados Unidos, Canadá, Brasil, Colombia, Perú, Ecuador, Argentina, España, Holanda, Bélgica, Eslovenia, Dhoa. Recibió el Golden Nika, Hybrid Art en el Prix Ars Electronica 2015, segundo premio Vida 13 de Fundación Telefónica de España, mención honorífica en Ars Electrónica, Linz Austria y el premio a la Producción Iberoamericana VIDA 09. Actualmente es miembro del Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte.

Gilberto was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, in 1975. He Resides in San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City. He graduated from the School of Plastic Arts of the University of Guanajuato and spent 1 year of exchange at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia, Spain.
Gilberto uses Research technology as a way to raise questions and solutions to the impacts of the human footprint on life on earth, from a claim of intelligence inherent in life and rethinking the relationship of human societies with the natural environment. His practices the recycling of consumer technology and experiments with biotechnology.
He has collaborated with many research institutions, including the Group of Chemical Engineering and Processes of the University of Cartagena, Spain, Mechatronics Area of CINVESTAV of the National Polytechnic Institute, Institute of Engineering, Juriquilla, UNAM, Digital Arts, and the University of Guanajuato .
Gilberto Esparza has made solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Slovenia, Dhoa. He received the Golden Nika, Hybrid Art at the Prix Ars Electronica 2015, second prize Life 13 of Fundación Telefónica de España, honorable mention at Ars Electrónica, Linz Austria and the award for Iberoamerican Production VIDA 09. He is currently a member of the National System of Creators of art.
