Kalpana Subramanian is an artist-filmmaker, educator and a Ph.D. candidate in Media Study at the University at Buffalo. Her research engages transcultural and interdisciplinary modes of inquiry into the aesthetics of experimental film ad media. Her films have been screened at many international film festivals and have received various honors. She was a Fulbright fellow in 2015-16 at the University of Colorado Boulder, and a UK Environmental Film Fellow in 2006. She is also an author or childrens’ books and a vocalist.
