Rae Pleasant is a PhDc at UTD in the Department of Arts and Humanities specializing in Aesthetic Studies. She studied art history and dance performance at Southern Methodist University, then traveled to New Zealand to further her education and gain inspiration. Rae has held a variety of positions in world class institutions, completed competitive fellowships, and conducted original research related to African-American history, artwork on paper, and self-taught art. She is currently focused on her venture as a community artist and independent curator with a range of ongoing projects.
