Bio

Raphael Deluzio is an artist, writer, professor, entrepreneur, inventor and a serial creative who has developed a new research facility, the CI2 Lab, at University of Southern Maine, in Design Science and Creative Intelligence, while still maintaining his studio practice which is centered in visual image making. His interest lies in reconnecting a praxis in painting with technology primarily through exploring the relation between traditional studio art and digital time-based media. He writes and publishes his theories and conduct workshops on, the Creative Process, Creative Intelligence, Design Science and working in a time-based medium as well as critically examining how current emerging media affect our culture. The National Science Foundation (NSF), through a recent grant, has recognized his expertise and significance of his theories on Creative Process and Creative Intelligence. The grant is to further his research in Creative Intelligence and to develop modules for teaching creative thought across STEM disciplines in higher education.
